~Tiny Little Snowflakes~

Tiny little snowflakes

Falling from the sky

Their mamas pushed them off the clouds

So they could learn to fly.

Descending from the heavens,

They shimmer oh so bright

They cover up the darkest ground

And try to make it white.

Some land in treetops way up high

While some dissolve, I wonder why?

The ones that fall, I watch them come

I open my mouth and stick out my tongue.

I taste their coldness, Oh so wet!

I swallow them down

With no regret.

But just as quickly as they come,

The snowflakes stop, their time is done.

                      ~My Sunshiney Song~

I want to run into the noon-time sun.

To soak up the rays until there is none.

To bask in the warmth of the afternoon glow

And hide in its brilliance so no one will know.

We’d wipe out the gray clouds and keep them away

So rain would not come and ruin our day.

I’d dance with the sunshine in two quarter time

And sing with my voice a sunshiney rhyme.

I’d swing and I’d sway and bow to the ground

To acknowledge the sun, who makes not a sound

But dances with me in his perfect light

To give me bright dreams to last through the night.

I’ll always treasure my time with the sun

How he brightens my day and makes it most fun,

To know that those gray clouds can’t stay with me long

‘Cause I’ll think of that sun and my sunshiney song.

~The Beauty of Nature~

A thing of beauty to behold,

Natures story to unfold.

The sunset, rainbows, morning dew;

Tall old trees and leaf buds new.

From birch and aspen, oak and pine,

To maple, ash and climbing vine.

They shade the forest floor below

And scatter leaves for autumns show.

From raging wind to gentle breeze,

You’ll hear the rustling of the leaves.

Flowers blooming, scent so sweet;

A place for hummingbirds to meet.

Crisp night air, a lakeside breeze;

Springtime thaw from winters freeze.

Puddles form from thundershower;

Lightning shows its awesome power.

The strips of pink and purple too

Make clouds at dusk a pretty hue.

Twinkling stars, they shine so bright

When darkness falls proclaiming night.

The moon it glows to show the way

‘Til night becomes another day.

And fluffy snow, all clean and white,

Can turn gray days to something bright.

These are the things from nature old,

Beauties I shall always hold.

~The Rain~

As I sit and watch the rain

While it falls down from the sky,

I am glad to be inside

Where it is warm and dry.

For in the world outside my door,

The raindrops fall with ease

They bring along their pitter sound

And patter as they please.

They pound on pavement

Cold and wet,

Puddle the ground

With no regret.

But I do so love the rain,

As it makes the earth so clean,

It spreads its scent where it has been

To places yet unseen.

And sometimes there’s a rainbow

With colors, oh so bright

Painted all across the sky

           And dancing in the light.
