DEER CONDO 2002

I'm getting too old to be sitting in trees in rainstorms and blizzards waiting for a buck to stroll by. This year I finally broke down and built a luxury shooting shack where I can while away the hours waiting for that trophy in relative comfort.

I pre-built my 4x6 hunting blind in my back yard. All the panels are held together with screws to make set up and take down easier. After cutting the windows and applying a final coat of paint, it is now ready to disassemble and move to its final destination.

I built a platform with 4x4s and plywood to support the blind. The legs are 3 feet in the ground and give the structure a solid base.

Each section is then lifted into place and secured with deck screws.

No luxury deer blind would be complete without a comfortable swivel rocker. I give it a test drive before installing the final front panel.

It's done !! This deer shack blends in so well, sometimes I can't find it in the dark ! I'm looking forward to the gun opener here in MI. From this blind I can cover a picked wheat field behind me (it'll be corn next year !), and a ten acre brushy hillside that the deer use as a bedding and transition area. I sure hope I don't fall asleep when that monster buck comes along !
