Well, waiting to
rehydrate wood is kin to watchin paint dry. I'm itching to be tillering
on this bow.
She's up a couple
percent, to 7%+, so today I went and did some adjustment to one of the
limbs. The one with the knots was pretty straight while the other had
about 1 1/4" of reflex. I figured I might as well make 'em the same
while waiting for the MC to rise a little.
Here are a few
pre-tiller pics.
Notice the one
limb is straight
Laying out a caul
with some finish nails and a ruler
Olive oil on the
bow so as not to lose as much moisture.
The reflexed side
got the same treatment so hopefully they come out the same.
I'll be showering
with this puppy tomorrow
off the caul, both
limbs are the same now.
I just put it on
the tree tonight to get things evened out a little. She's about 60#@3"
right now.
John, here's a crappy one from yesterday, still a little flat spot
around the knots on the left side...since fixed.
Sanding it now.
unstrung, minimal
set.
She's shooting, 57#@28", proly be closer to 55# after final sanding and
some shooting by the winner.
Dave, I rough shaped the handle but there is still some work I left for
you. It should arrive your house mid next week....have fun.
