TRADITIONAL BOWS DRAWN

Manny, Of Hawaii

This special section of gallery pages are being opened and set up in October of 2006, 71 Years after your host's birth year, in celebration and observance of the beauty and grace of the full drawn traditional bow. The seed for this idea was inspired by my love of that beauty and grace and spiked by the above picture. That picture will also be the first displayed in these gallery pages. In setting up this new project I have asked my friends, acquaintances, and cyber-friends and acquaintances to submit pictures of themselves and /or their family members in the act of drawing their favorite (or other) traditional bows for all to enjoy. You will see many traditional type bows and the diversity of the good folks who find pleasure and passion in shooting those bows, some hunters, some only shooters, some builders of those bows, some appreciative users of those bowyer's considerable talents. It is a celebration of one of the finest and most enjoyable family sports in mankind's long and otherwise troubled history. Here there is only the curve of the bow and the devotion of the archers, from all over the World.

NOTE: Please be sure to check out Page 13, for a fantastic update on Manny and his bows.

To enter the Traditional Bows Drawn gallery pages, scroll down and click on the link to Page 1 (or succeeding Pages)

Note, please, that these pages are not meant to denigrate nor slight our brethren  in archery who indulge in other more modern forms of archery and bows, which are also a fine family sport. We are only attempting to portray and preserve the older form that led up to those types of equipment.

Now don't just look  and not submit your picture(s) (it's really OK to) - but please e-mail them to me at bdunn1@ec.rr.com  I'll be waiting for them with bated breath - Don't be the last on your block to be included - LOL.

NOTE:  I have now resized the "Larger pics", that you can click on the thumbnails to see, (in this Section, and throughout my web site). Now they should be better to view regardless of your monitor/display size - honest. With a lot of help from a Dutchman (really) and his telling me where I could download a free program (Irfan View) to view/resize, I have now been able to resize (those that needed it) all of the large pics for easier loading and viewing, I believe. From now on I will be able to do that as I get the pics and before I use them. Thanks for your patience.

BTW - there are quite a few "Full Draw" pics on my Regular Gallery pages also, and I may even put a few of them here but check those out too, if you will.

3238 visitors to this site (primarily due to this new section) in the section's first Quarter (Oct., Nov.,  & Dec  of 2006). That's an average of 35 visitors a day! That average is up from about 5 per day previously.

Thank you, one and all!

Please if you enjoy my efforts (or just have a comment or question) also feel free to visit, read, and/or sign my Guestbook. Honest, it's not like the camera - it won't steal your soul! Ah'll 'preciate it! Last sign-in on my Guestbook was:  Apr. 10, 2008   Thank you, JJJ of Canada. Have you signed yet/recently?
