Semper Fi

To: Gallery, Pg2 (Just in case you've seen this one enough already. Are you nuts?)

First Row: Bernie with Elephant statues near Savannah, Ga. (A Mother's Day gift for Rose, the picture that is.), Kissie posing for animal crackers, Cypress roots on the Savannah River, Bernie and Catfish from Savannah River (all in 1999), Lunchtime at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station for Bernie in 1965 (yes, that's a fish pole I'm baiting up), and Randy with a nice 1997 SC doe taken with a perfect one arrow shoot through.

Second Row: Bernie and "The Boat" on Savannah River mud flat (that structure behind is the keel and bows of an abandoned ship), Canada Goose nest on Brice's Creek in NC, Bernie and Lake Matamuskeet Bass, Kissie outside on her leash, "The Monster" ( a tree stand that mutated into a bow shooting practice platform as soon as I get stairs on it), and Ten foot Gator on bank of Savannah River (at right of picture and hard to pick out). All 1999.

Third Row: Bernie with 1st buck at Camp Pendleton (California) in 1959, Kissie "You talkin' to me?", Randy smiling at a Sav Riv Catfish, Savannah River showing partially the large tide swing there, Randy E-Z livin' on the Sav Riv, (all 1999), and Bernie with nice 1997 SC doe.

Fourth Row: "The Boat" my boat when it was still Randy's boat in 1998, My 1994 Maine Turkey taken on a hunt with the late (ever so great) Eddie Mills, Granddaughter Onesty being made a mess of by Kissie on Christmas Day 1998, Rose' path through our orchard/front yard - watch it grow (1999), Granddaughter Haylei and Today Show (on TV) on Christmas morn 1998, and Sloopy in Kissie's bed even though she has one of her own the proper size (1999).

Fifth Row: That little ol' Butthead (me) - hamming it up for a picture for Kat, a close-up of the "Butthead Award" standing at attention, "The Monster" after being felled by hurricane Floyd, some more of my turkeys - oh - no - I mean my brothers and sister (Ev, Viv, & Dag - as my sis said, a rose between two thorns - she said it, guys), The Dunn Coat-of-Arms (the motto means Onward To Victory), and Sloopy's weak eyes after a Sunday chasing rabbits (for herself) and before any rest - but after a bath.

Sixth Row: Jabo's wife (Kat - as you can see she has hair all over her face and a hand growing out of her head so we don't really see her much - Gotcha!), Jabo at Mattamuskeet (this happens every time I take a picture of him - suppose he's part vampire?), Randy with his Mattamuskeet buck (and the Jabopire), I told you to watch my orchard grow - Keefer Pears all over that little tree, only one apple grew on this one (really good though), and Randy with a Pettiford Creek (NC) bass and a homemade belly (Hmmm - Chrissie said she wasn't carrying any more kids).

Seventh Row: the first four photos are a sequential series of Randy working his Black Lab pup (Sassy) at Haywood Landing (White Oak River - the setup, getting her line, the retrieve, giving up the dummy - she rocks), a bird's nest on Pettiford Creek (close to my house), and Randy & Sassy waiting for some early "experimental season" Teal at White Oak Impoundment - Sassy is the good looking one on the left.

Eighth Row: Old Man Creeper of the Mud Flats (me crossing one of sapling bridges we have to lay in Savanah River area - note balance poles in each hand), typical SC view from my climbing stand (if you strain your eyes you may pick out raccoon mama and two kits near palmetto in center), Randy with NC bear of 1996 and SC pig of 1998 (also sporting his newly acquired character lending "snowshoe scars"), never - ever spoil your Sloopy dawg, and the last two are my Christmas 1999 card to all my friends/relatives/others who chance to peruse these pages. (Sorry about the weird tint with my non-flash digital.)

From our house to yours: joy, health, peace in your life and the world, and the will to remember to treat all you may meet with warmth and friendliness. Bernie and family

Ninth Row: Four generations in late-eighties (Rose, her mother, our daughter, her oldest daughter -right to left: Elma, Rose, Lois, Onesty), Fazie (Rose's dad) and Kissie making him feel at home - Christmas 1999, another of Fazie in the early 80's at Chimney Rock, and three for one of our joint effort - last day - mosquito ditch 7 pointer (Randy, Seven, Jabo; Bernie, Seven, Jabo; Bernie, Seven, Randy). Can't believe we finally got a couple decent pictures of Jabo. By the way, these three and the first of Fazie were all taken with the digital JamCam. Getting better with it and I think the distortion in my neck and wrist (in the one with Jabo) and also in Randy's jaw (in the one with me) is either movement of the camera or subject at the wrong moment.

Tenth Row: Rose's mother at Chimney Rock also, couple JamCam shots of our snowy yard on Jan 18 of 2000 (Who says we don't need snowshoes in the Carolinas? Temperature stayed in the low to mid twenties all day. Brrrrrrrrrr, who needs it?), Ma & Pop (Bernie's) @ 35th anniversary which according to my calculations would be 1964, the 2 dog pictures ("New Friends Are A Blessing" and "Teenage Buddies") are long overdue pics of Sloopy's outdoor friends that I mentioned on the Family page. Sloopy insisted on a more formal intro to them so you will find that by going to Gallery, Pg2. Sneaky, huh?
