Clay's 171 3/8 B&C

Clay Coffman from Houston took this very fine buck during the 1994 - 1995 season. Clay was hunting with his father Kirk on their small deer lease in Atascosa County, Texas. They had hunted together since Clay was only 5 years old and this trip Kirk was "just taking pictures". Naturally it was the guy with the camera that saw this buck three different times during the afternoon but since it was cloudy and there was poor light for photography Kirk got down from his blind early. This spooked the buck in the general direction of Clay's blind.

Though it was late, the buck showed up about 60 yards from Clay and it didn't take him long to decide this one was a definite shooter. Clay made the shot good under the pressure of this surprise monster. He and his dad found the buck together....what a moment for both of them..!

This great 11 point buck has nice mass, 26 inch main beams and grossed 174 2/8 and netted a B&C Book 171 3/8 net. All of this from a county not noted for its B&C entries.
