More Macho Bucks

Bayne Horn of Odem, Texas was hunting the Macho Ranch in the state of Coahuila in 1992 and 1993, and took the 2 super bucks shown above.

The buck on the left was taken by Bayne in the last week of January 1992. It is a basic 10 pointer with forked brow tines, a 24" spread, 24" mainbeams, and good mass to score 158 gross.

The buck on the right which is shown with Rick Hale who had seen and passed on the buck earlier in the 1993 season because he was hunting a 12 pointer, was taken by Bayne later in the season. This basic 10 pointer with 2 kickers grosses 157.

An interesting though not uncommon twist on passing deer on leased land is that Rick did see the 12 pointer but elected to pass him since he felt that he had the potential to make "book" in another season. As often happens, this group of hunters were unable to hunt the ranch the following year.
