Zavala County
Pictures
Five of us are hunting south of Batesville in Zavala County, Texas on a 2400 acre low fence ranch. This is my fourth year there and though we have been in a severe drought for most of that time, this season we have had adequate rain to at least temporarily break the drought. We do not supplementary feed so our deer are totally dependent on native brush for their sustenance so we are always pleased to see the rain come and enhance the native brush. All of our hunters are experienced hunters and there also are some good cooks in the group therefore with friends gathered around a campfire we know we will enjoy ourselves no matter what comes of our hunting efforts.

This first page covers the Spring of 2007 which included a fabulous display of wildflowers to go with the usual South Texas hogs and Rio Grande Turkeys. Enjoy the bounty of our 2007 - 2008 season.
