In my mind, there's no better
practice for bowhunting than shooting 3-D archery. If you stay away from
the competitive part of the 3-D, you can shoot at your own level at your
own pace. Each time out can be a positive experience learning to estimate
distance and shot placement. Nothing can duplicate a deer jumping the string
or alerting to the sound of an arrow being drawn, but 3-D is the next best
thing to being there. You can also have a lot of fun with your friends
and make new acquaintances along the way.
