In the tradition of the past six Magnificent Hawg Hunts, Jeff “Tennbow” Coggins has once again managed to bring together another group of hog huntin’ fools and “virgins” who dare to endure Tennessee wild boar and Tennessee hospitality. Clarkrange Hunting Lodge will be the stage for the adventures and mis-adventures of Bowsite.com bowhunters again this year.

Tennbow  aka (R.E.G.O.) was responsible for pulling together over 60 bowhunters to hunt wild boar in TN during the MHH hunts. Bowhunters portaged to Tennessee from H.I., CA, TX, ND, IL, IN, OH, PA, KY, GA, FL, AL, KS, CN, MD, NJ, MI, VA, and the Carolina’s. Most states were represented during each hunt. In the early years it was very common to invade the warm household of the Coggins family the day before the trek to “middle Tennessee”. Food and beverage were plentiful and a place to nod-off before the morning travel was readily available. Because the size of the MHH we decided it better to meet at the lodge instead of running Jeff’s family out of their home…temporarily anyhow.

In 1998 the MHH was born and delivered to Caryonah Hunting Lodge outside of Crossville, TN and migrated to Clarkrange Hunting Lodge in 2002.

Each of the MHH’s carried a special slogan chosen by Jeff and a panel of one or two Wingnuts.  MHHI “Magnificent Hawg Hunt”, MHHII “This Time it’s Porcinal”, MHHIII “Swine, Wine, & Nickle-Dime”, MHHIV “A Hawg Oddity”, MHHV “Operation Enduring Rednecks”, MHHVI “MHHVI”, and this year MHHVII is, “Silence of the Hams”.

January 10, 2004 Jeff Coggins passed away but his legacy will continue to live. The MHH hunts have carved a notch into the  North American bowhunting archives and will continue with the same tradition as always.

Jeff will be missed by many and remembered for life as he touched the heart of many.

This MHHVII hunt is dedicated to the memory of our brother, Jeff A. Coggins.
