How do you do a repeat performance after the day like I had on Monday? Never in my life have I harvested a turkey. To get one with a bow would be fantastic. Billy Don had another spot for me and I was ready !My first sighting at first light was one of the many exotics here at Wild Horse Prairie Ranch, a blackbuck passed in the distance! A very wary creature with the eyes of an antelope and the ears of a whitetail deer. Hunting on a working cattle ranch sometimes means an occasional visit from the "residents." These guys came for a visit after the cattle left. My turkey calling techniques are amazing ! Then it was back to the ranch house for a late breakfast and a new plan for the afternoon hunt. I was going to a stand on the pipeline. I got busted by a doe as soon as I got into my seat but once I settled in, I saw a young blackbuck, two groups of boar, and a real nice eight point buck. Got some real nice video of the blackbuck and the 8 pointer, but the turkey curse was still on me! Meanwhile, Wayne Dobson from Kansas got himself a real nice 11 point buck.
