On Line Deer Hunt
Day #3 - Sunday, 10/10/04 -My first dayI got there in early afternoon and after a cup of coffee and finding a bunk, I anxiously jumped at the opportunity to go on the afternoon hunt. I wasn't disappointed. A young buck and an anterless deer came into my area and milled around for a while. A thunderstorm in the distance created the conditions for a rainbow to appear on the horizon, I took this as a sign of good things to come !
My New "Lucky Hat" Shortly after my arrival, Billy
Don Van Cleave presented to
me, a new hat.I wore it every day of the hunt.
I also got everyone who hunted
the same days as me to sign the
brim.A great keepsake from the first

As daylight faded to darkness, the resident coyotes started to howl and yip. It was interesting to see the reaction of the deer. Their ears were like radar homing in on the sound of the yotes, with necks stretching and eyes peering toward the point of origin. A few minutes of listening was all they could take and off in the opposite direction they went. Then it was just me and the 'yotes waiting for my ride back to the ranch house.
Did I say, "Good things to come?" This is Don Beckwith. " Donald Duck " to his friends. One fantastic guy! He can whip up breakfast, lunch, and dinner like nobody I've ever seen and then He goes hunting too! I must have gained ten pounds in four days.
